A queen who leaves behind a trail of glitter

Work hard and live to the limits. That one sentence embraces the essence which makes Rene Jordt the perfect Mrs Witbank.

During a visit to a local protea farm we had the opportunity to get to know the lady who wears this prestigious crown with dignity and self confidence.

Rene (38) told us that this accolade gives her a platform on which she can inspire and motivate women and make them aware of their worth.

She is no stranger to beauty pageants.

“At a very young age I started competing in pageants. Amongst others I was Miss Ogies and even Miss Vat 5. There is a string of other titles. I took some time off, got married, become a mommy and focussed on our business venture before the bug bit me and I entered Mrs Mpumalanga last year where I was one of the finalists.”

Rene is involved with Cansa and Feed a Child. She is also the founder of the local Red Dot project.

“A natural, beautiful part of female biology became a monthly nightmare for some. For many of us, buying sanitary pads is as easy as buying bread and milk. But this is not the case for millions of girls and women in South Africa. They are at a permanent disadvantage as they are forced to stay at home as they are unable to afford this basic necessity,” Rene explains.

When she is not busy creating awareness and collecting sanitary pads for school girls, Rene also runs her Purple Paw project in aid of the SPCA and she is also a ‘sponsor mom’ at Animal Instincts in Johannesburg.

Rene is the brand ambassador for Bloss Magazine.

After a photo session between the lovely stretches of Proteas, Rene gave us another glimpse in her life.

She is married to André and they have a toddler called Skyler and also her stepson Jared (16) also crawled deep into her heart.

“Besides André, Skyler and Jared I have four doggy-children and a cat that keeps me up and running,” she chuckles.

Rene is doing the office administration in Andre’s business Rawson Properties.

“Real estate is generally a great investment option. It can generate an ongoing passive income, and it can prove to be a good long-term investment if its value increases exponentially over time.”

After 16 years in the property market she surely knows what she is talking about. Coco Chanel said ‘Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.’

Rene is a queen who leaves behind a trail of glitter that lights up the lives of others.
