Lady May pairs with a ribeye steak

Glenelly Estate have released the 2012 vintage of their highly acclaimed, and very special, flagship wine … the Lady May. Named in honour of Glenelly’s Grande Dame, May de Lencquesing, it’s a blend of 89 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, with 10 per cent Petit Verdot and just one per cent Cabernet Franc.

Matured for 24 months in French oak, this wine is intense, deeply coloured and will pair beautifully with dishes like braised pork cheeks, sweet potato, glazed baby carrots and red wine jus, a beef ribeye steak with potato wedges and root vegetables and wholegrain mustard sauce, or a fillet of lamb with roast root vegetables, Parisienne gnocchi and thyme jus.

You’ll find it a specialist wine stores for R490. Details:
