Nurses celebrate Florence Nightingale

On this day nurses were celebrating International Nurses Day, the birth of Florence Nightingale who was born on 12 May 1820.

This function was held at Middelburg Hospital, in the Recreation Hall on 13 June 2017.

Nurses got an opportunity to read the nurses pledge, which is the pledge they took when they qualified as nurses.

The pledge is like a vow taken by nurses, promising to take care of the sick with love, conscience and dignity.

They renew these vows during the lighting of candles.
